Why Source Guar Gum From India

    80%+ of global production

India is the dominant origin for guar seed and guar gum powder, with Rajasthan and northern Gujarat supplying the bulk of the crop.

    Gujarat is the processing hub

Splitting and powder milling capacity is concentrated in Gujarat, close to both the growing belt and the container ports.

    Direct manufacturer pricing

Buying from the plant removes trader and distributor margins, typically 15–30% of landed cost at container volumes.

    Crop-cycle visibility

Origin suppliers see arrivals, split prices and NCDEX futures first, which makes contract pricing and buffer planning more reliable.

    Our Facility

Our manufacturing plant is located at Kalol in Gujarat, within short inland haulage of both the guar splitting belt and Mundra Port. Milling, screening, blending, packing and quality testing all happen under one roof, which is what keeps lot-to-lot viscosity consistent across repeat orders.

    Frequently asked questions

Why is India the leading source of Guar Gum?

India accounts for roughly 80% of world guar production, concentrated in Rajasthan and northern Gujarat, and Gujarat is the country's splitting and powder-processing hub. Buying at origin means shorter supply chains, direct access to the split market and pricing that is not layered with trader margins.

Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?

B.D. Guar Pvt. Ltd. is a manufacturer. We operate our own processing plant at Kalol, Gujarat, with in-house milling, screening, blending and a quality control laboratory, and we have exported under the HICOL brand since 1983.

What is your annual production capacity?

Our Kalol facility runs a 12,000 MT annual capacity across food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, organic and industrial grades, backed by direct procurement from more than 5,000 contracted farmers in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Which port do you export from?

Primarily Mundra Port in Gujarat, the closest major container port to our plant, with Kandla as an alternate. Short inland haulage keeps freight cost and container turnaround times low compared with Rajasthan-based suppliers shipping through Mundra or Nhava Sheva.

What is the minimum order quantity for export?

Standard MOQ is one 20-foot container (approximately 16 MT) FOB. LCL consolidations from 1 MT can be arranged for smaller buyers, and 1–5 kg qualification samples ship worldwide by DHL or FedEx.

What export registrations do you hold?

We are APEDA registered, a FIEO member, hold an Importer Exporter Code and FSSAI licence, and maintain ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, Halal, Kosher, USDA NOP and EU Organic, SEDEX and FDA facility registration — nine-plus certifications in total.

How quickly do you issue a Certificate of Analysis?

Every batch is tested for viscosity, mesh, moisture, ash, protein, pH and microbial limits, and the Certificate of Analysis is issued within 24 hours of batch completion. Retained samples are held for each lot for traceability.

What Incoterms and payment terms do you work with?

We quote FOB, CFR, CIF and DAP, and our in-house documentation team handles Certificate of Origin, EUR.1, phytosanitary certificates and destination-specific paperwork. Payment terms include telegraphic transfer and irrevocable Letter of Credit at sight.

What does Guar Gum cost from an Indian exporter?

Indicative FOB India pricing is USD 2–5/kg for industrial grade, USD 3–8/kg for food grade, USD 5–12/kg for pharmaceutical grade and USD 8–15/kg for organic. Pricing is reviewed weekly against guar split markets and NCDEX futures, with volume discounts from 20 MT.
