    Frequently asked questions

Is Guar Gum an approved food additive in the European Union?

Yes. Guar Gum is authorised as food additive E412 under EU Regulation 1333/2008 and its purity criteria are set in Regulation 231/2012. It is permitted quantum satis in most food categories, so EU manufacturers can use it without a separate authorisation dossier.

How do you comply with the EU ethylene oxide (ETO) limits?

Our Guar Gum is never treated with ethylene oxide. Microbial reduction is done by steam sterilisation, and every consignment is tested by an accredited third-party laboratory with results below 0.1 mg/kg — the residue limit that applies under EU Regulation 2026/196 from 18 August 2026. An ETO-free certificate accompanies each shipment.

Which documents do you provide for EU customs clearance?

Commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, EUR.1 movement certificate where applicable, phytosanitary certificate, Certificate of Analysis, ETO-free and Salmonella-negative certificates, non-GMO and allergen declarations, and MSDS. Our in-house export documentation desk prepares the full set before vessel departure.

Are you REACH registered for industrial grades?

Guar Gum is a naturally occurring polysaccharide and our industrial grades are supplied in line with REACH obligations, including Only Representative arrangements where an EU importer requires them. We supply full substance identity and safety data sheets in the required EU format.

How long does shipping to European ports take?

Ocean transit is typically 15–20 days from Mundra, Gujarat to Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp and Barcelona, plus 2–4 weeks of production lead time from purchase order. Direct sailings and transhipment via Jebel Ali are both available.

What is the price of Guar Gum for European buyers?

Indicative FOB India pricing is €3–8/kg for food grade (E412), €5–12/kg for pharmaceutical grade and €8–15/kg for EU Organic certified material. CIF quotes to EU ports are issued within 24 hours and volume discounts apply from 20 MT.

Do you supply EU Organic certified Guar Gum?

Yes. Our organic line is certified to EU Organic and NOP standards, produced from contracted non-GMO guar acreage with full seed-to-shipment traceability, and is supplied with organic transaction certificates for each lot.

What is the minimum order quantity for EU customers?

Standard MOQ is one 20-foot container (approximately 16 MT) FOB. LCL consolidations from 1 MT can be arranged for smaller European buyers, and 1–5 kg qualification samples ship by DHL to any EU address in 4–7 working days.

Can you meet EU food safety and ethical audit expectations?

Our Kalol, Gujarat facility operates ISO 9001:2015 quality management and ISO 22000:2018 food safety management systems, holds Halal and Kosher certification, and is SEDEX registered for ethical audit, which covers the due-diligence expectations of most EU food manufacturers and retailers.
